My
name is Ady Abreu; I am the owner of Ady Cakes, a custom cake and cupcake shop
with locations in West Reading and Lititz,
Pennsylvania.
I was
born and raised in the Dominican
Republic and I graduated from college with a
degree in Industrial Engineering
at the age of 20.
After
moving to the United States
in 2000 and working for various corporations, I decided to take my
life’s savings and pursue my passion for baking and cake decorating. In 2007 I
opened Ady Cakes.
Customers
were drawn to my shop for our artistic cake creations and daring cupcakes
flavors.
In 2012, I competed and won the top prize on the wildly popular Food Network show Cupcake Wars. For several weeks after Cupcake Wars aired,

thousands
of people lined outside of my little shop to buy our cupcakes. A question that
I always gets from my fans and customers
is how I come up with these creative cupcake ideas? The answer is simple: “Through
curiosity”.
In 2012
I was awarded Business Person of the Year by the Latino Chamber of Commerce, and
I recognized by theUnited
States Senate, Senate of Pennsylvania, House of Representatives, US Congress,
and the City of Reading for my dedication
and contribution to the business community. My work has been featured in
several magazines, newspapers, and
food blogs.
